So the power went out again last night at work.

Last Thursday we were without electricity at the office until about 2:30 in the afternoon…and then yesterday it happened again. Unfortunately this is one of the side effects of living and working somewhere like Old Town, but anyway. I had stayed late last night so that E and i could get a jump start on some projects we need to finish today. We stepped outside with the pupsters for 3 minutes and then….

Nothing. (Sometimes you just have to laugh)

So E and I sat and talked for another hour or so trying to figure out what to do…at this stage Dominion was saying we may have power back around 12:45am…but we eventually decided to call it a night. I’m pretty sure the Giz was very excited to leave the office…he normally starts getting antsy to go home around 4:52, so at 10pm he is definitely past his limit

When i eventually got home last night there was a HUGE box in the hallway…i knew i hadn’t ordered anything, but everyone else had been home before me so i tipped it over a little bit to have a look at the address label and it had my name on it – SCORE! (I kind of like opening surprises ). So i picked up the box and tiptoed into the kitchen to open it and inside was…stuff for the Giz! After having a bit of a rough week, it was awesome to come home to a nice surprise, but when the surprise also includes gifties for the naughty boy…you can’t help but smile.

I opened the bed insert for him this morning and without even letting me put the cover on it, this is what happened (ignore the unmade bed…its 7am):

So i’m still smiling. I’m still ‘on the plan’ and i’m still moving forward I feel good…i feel like this year is going to be full of good things. How can it not be?
