Some days are harder than others. This is one of those days.
February 9th 2004 – February 29th 2012
It was always meant to be. You and me.
I remember the first day I saw you. Miss Meg, Sumner and I traveled out to meet you. The shelter owners warned me that you were very nervous and that we should all just talk quietly and let you come up to us.
That was a total joke.
As soon as you saw us, you started tearing around the enclosed yard like a bat out of hell, jumping and being an idiot and just totally showing off. No-one could believe it, least of all your foster people.
They asked me if I was wanting to think about it. Hell no. You were coming home with us. I fell in love at first fart.
You sat on my lap this morning as we talked to Poppy Jack and Nanna Margie and we laughed over some of the naughty funny things you’ve done over the years…
Or the time you dressed up as Billy Ray Cyrus for halloween.
I love you tough guy

I’m having a lot of day to day issues managing my time well….between work and homelife I REALLY have no spare time. A girl still needs a nap every now and then, am i right?
So…my life in daily photos….and when i have a chance to not try and not screw up diy projects i will add those too
My little man…he’s not doing very well. Since stopping his chemo treatment he has lost most of the sensation and use in his rear left leg again. I don’t know how much longer he will spend with us, but I am loving him as much as I can every minute i can spend with him.
All i need is 4 more hours
in every day.
I mean SRS. That is really not that much to ask for, right?
So most every night lately has been looking a little like this..
And a lot like this..
My days, however, have been filled with stuff like this..
Which is totally exciting…and probably has a lot to do with why I am so exhausted.
My weekend in a nutshell
So…a few months back i came across the blog of Greg Ham, an awesome illustrator with a knack of capturing the smallest details in a fun format.
But all his other (incredible) artwork aside…one of his images REALLY caught my eye.
BT Bee! © Greg HamBut back to the story at hand. I went to talk to a guy about a dog. And this is what happened..
Animal house
Sometimes I really have to wonder about the animals we live with. I always smile when non-animal people talk about cats having no personality or dogs being just dogs.
Come spend a day at our house. SRSLY.
Miss Georgia is definitely the princess of the household…and Daddy’s little girl. Little being the operative word here…she is WEE. She will tolerate me, but mostly only around dinner time or when B isn’t home
She is pretty much our most cat-like cat. And she’s kinda cute. At the moment though, her favourite toy is a travel size packet of kleenex tissues. And that, my friends, is why cats don’t need store bought toys. But they both have plenty of those too..
Giz is just our big goofball. Really. Words cannot describe how chock full of personality this dog is. We started spelling out the names of his treats recently to stop him from going nuts when we said the actual word…but now he knows what we are talking about even when we spell them out. I really need to videotape this nonsense.
Sterling is just a big ol dork. We love him to death…we like to think of him as the real life Pusheen. He has no teeth, due to an illness he had before we adopted him, so he walks around A LOT with his toungue out. Mostly everything that is in this house is here to entertain him. Including us big hairy people. Sterling’s favourite toy is a little rattly mouse that he throws all over the Living Room until it ends up under a piece of furniture. It’s at this point that us two-footers come in handy and he will search the house for us and cry until we get the broom out to dig out his mouse.
So thats our animal house in a nutshell…we’re all a little crazy here
Dogasaurus REX!
This weekend, my original plan was to attack our bedside tables. But due to the snow, cold and no alternate areas for inside sanding…i headed to Michaels instead to pick out some yarn for my new knitting project.
Dogasaurus REX!
He is soooo impressed with this selection
At the moment, after knitting for most of the evening, I am about 1/56th of the way through the pattern. Who would have thought that 1×1 ribbing would be SO MUCH FUN? For the record, this is kind of how I imagine Giz looking in my head when the sweater is done.
What’s your go-to craft when all other plans are thrown out the window?
The Giz
He’s not doing so well at the moment. For the last month he has had a sore leg that has gotten progressively worse and is now an almost lame leg. Two different vets and a set of x-rays that were not all that helpful, all point to the same thing…its a neurological problem. Something with his brain/spinal cord/etc.
We have another appointment on Monday morning with a neurologist who will hopefully be able to give us some indication of what may be going on. In the meantime, this little guy is soaking up all the attention and playing off his sore leg as much as possible. And pouting. As only a Boston Terrier can…
