Giveaway!

This giveaway is now closed – thanks to everyone for entering and having fun with me!

Now who doesn’t like a sexy giveaway?

What about a sexy, GREEN giveaway? And by green, i mean black…and white and kind of meshy. But, you know…really really sexy [insert sexy fish face pout here].

But first…let me tell you about my new favourites.

Aren’t they cute?

I have been using my flip & tumble Produce Bags for a while now. These were actually a wedding gift from a fabulous friend of ours and I am in love with them! You know what is awesome? Not having to use those STUPID throw-away plastic bags at the supermarket anymore. Even better is that you can still see through the flip & tumble produce bags for the produce code in the self-checkout aisle. Win-win.

But. It gets better…(i know)…when you get home, you don’t even need to pull out the colander. You can rinse your goodies right in the bag! I’ve actually been storing all my produce in these bags in the fridge. Dr Wee-B even says that keeping your produce in these bags keeps the items fresher for longer. True story.

Once I’m done I toss them in the laundry for a quick rinse and they go back in my shopping pile again.

But wait! There’s still more! Not only do flip & tumble have you covered when it comes to produce bags…they also have the most awesome ideas for re-useable shopping bags – the flip & tumble 24-7 bag! When I tell you that balls can be fun (even when you’re a lady), you REALLY have to believe me..Look!

Sexy, small, totable fun! And really, there’s something terribly childish about rolling a bag up into a ball and throwing it at your husbands head something. It’s totes awesome (see what i did there? Totes? I know.)

Because I’m a lover not a hater, I reached out to my new besties at flip & tumble to see if they would be willing to share the love a little too. And they were! So now you, my lucky little gladiolas (thank you Dame Edna), get a chance to win a set of flip & tumble bags along with a re-usable ball tote!!

So how to enter..

One more down

We had the home inspection today and by all accounts it went well! There were a few minor things that need to be fixed (electrical outlets in the Kitchen, the skylights need to be reflashed, sump pump to be replaced, etc.) but nothing too crazy and nothing that our realtor felt that the owners wouldn’t repair.

So…one more hurdle has been covered and we are still in the running to win the race :) I took a ton more photos with my camera today, i just need to grab my cables tomorrow and I can upload them for the viewing pleasure…

Bros and bros

Games night with my boys, always my favourite night :)

Tonight began with Maniha and his AMAZING bbq pork. Damn dude. This stuff was so awesome it killed buns. This was kind of the aftermath shot…when we were trying to divide up the leftovers. Keep in mind that i am using the term ‘leftovers’ very loosely. This was a giant crockpot FULL TO THE BRIM with goodness. I don’t even think we managed to get more than an inch deep with our two rounds of sandwiches.

Smallworld. Lots of fun. This was just the setup and Mr Jordan taking us through the rules. This was actually a super speedy game once we got through the first round and figured out how the play went. Days of Wonder definitely know how to put together a great game.

This was from about halfway through the game when Maniha was just about to lay the smack down on all of us with his army of the undead. All i had were a couple of stinky Halflings weilding sharp knives, sausages and a wheel of cheese. Don’t ask me, i don’t know.

Miss ThingTM. She had a LOT to say last night, and while i don’t quite speak her language, what i do know is that she used a lot of words that I would have had my mouth washed out with soap for. Naughty girl ;)

aussie rules..

A nice warm 102° F in Perth today…..completely the opposite of what the family in DC is experiencing at the moment – i’m kind of curious what kind of state of shock my body will go into when i get home to the cooooold

It’s Sunday here in the future and as most shops and things are still closed on a Sunday, the parents and I decided to take a day off from family-ing and touristy-ing and just stay at home and annoy Mr Henry. Mission fairly accomplished i would say ;)

Time to pass out now

The mama and i did head into Freo yesterday to have a wander through the markets and to pop back into Didgeridoo Breath. Not much new around and is it just me or are the Freo markets getting smaller and smaller every year? So not much success with my list of stuff to take back home….but i did manage to find one bargain…

dscn2307 Ignore the face and the hair…it’s bloody hot here!

Money well spent i think…well i guess considering that Margie bought it for me, it was a definite bargain :D

Tomorrow some of my cousins are coming over to the house and then at some point next week the parents and i are going to do a tour of the Fremantle Prison which should be a blast! Also left on the list is more family time and a day in the city on Thursday. I think next time i come home, i’m going to have to do so for a hell of a lot longer…two and a bit weeks is never enough. But the next time i come home, i will also have a lot more baggage with me…is it possible that i could fit the wee-b in overhead storage?

;) I love you wee-b….just joking about the overhead storage, you can totally fit under my chair.

Hrrmmm?

Fun.

Fun fun weekend. Friday night Wee-b and i headed into DC to play pool at the Townhouse Tavern. We got in a few rounds before we were joined by a couple of regulars. After a couple more games we decided to take off and go and grab some food from Julia’s. Jumped in the car and headed back to Alexandria via way of a small park with swings…there’s definitely something about swinging late at night that makes you feel free. And childish. And awesome :)

Saturday I was introduced to Riki-Oh and let me tell you, words do not do this movie justice. Along with the watching of one of the most awesome movies evarr, a nice man also cooked me dinner. Mmm…salmon and ‘gus, it was terrifically yummy….especially whilst watching someone get the top of their head sliced off with a single punch. Unf!

Sunday was my day with my girl Miss M. We hit up the coffee shop and headed into DC to the Eastern Markets, after a bit of a wander we headed over to chat with our favourite girl Quest, admire her artwork and congratulate her on the mural she was involved with. We got a chance to wander through the (fairly) newly re-opened section and it looked just amazing.

Sunday night was two movies -Harold and Maude AND The Dark Crystal. I mean seriously, how can you beat that?

So for now it’s back to work…and this morning i think i would rather curl up in bed and cuddle with the Giz instead..

really?

How is it really the middle of the year already?

Had a fun, mostly quiet weekend. I had originally thought there was going to be some garden monster killing…but i never heard back about that, so instead i went into DC to enjoy the pride parade :) So. Much. Fun. Got to hang out with some of my favourite people and after the parade was said and done, we headed over to Cafe Saint-Ex for some food and beers. We managed to get caught in a teeny tiny bit of rain towards the end of our meal…but instead of being mildly annoying, it was actually kind of relaxing. Good food, great company and as we were able to sit outside we got to see all of the stragglers leaving the parade. Men running around in tutu’s is vaguely amusing :D

Sunday morning i woke up and had coffee with Charlie and the puppies, on the front steps and then headed out to the carwash with Mozart to have a look-see at the broken network and try and work my fixing-magic on the whole thing. In exchange for a free carwash (shiny!) i think i managed to find the problem and left instructions with my adopted father on how to fix things once the day was over and hardware could be safely restarted.

Woke up this morning to an extremely grumpy puppy. I have no idea what his problem is…but how can he be cute even when he’s in the grumps? Maybe it’s just the bottom lip that never stops sticking out. Apparently i had this issue as a child as well…

Sad face

Good weekend

I had the best weekend :) Miss M and i were remarking to each other yesterday that it seems as though lately, each weekend has been better than the last for different reasons.

Friday night we all went into Bourbon and relaxed after work with beer and tots and then Miss M and i decided that we had to stop at target on the way home. I had bought the cutest pair of shoes there a week or so ago and M wanted to get a pair for herself in a different color. Of course, no trip to Target can ever be that easy and we definitely ended up walking out with more than just a pair of shoes :D On the way out we had a gentleman stop us to tell us “I like your jeans!” fun. We walked a little faster to the car :P

Saturday morning i got up and headed into work. Left the naughty ones at home as I had to drive out to MD after work to deliver some textiles to a client and I knew i wouldn’t have room for puppies and textiles :) I picked up Miss M on the way out as we were planning on heading over to the National Harbor for some Ketchup and Bull riding after the drop off. Mission accomplished and we were heading back to VA…a quick phone call to L and we decided to head down to Old Town instead…Murphy’s it was.

About 2 beers into the night, Ronan came on stage to begin his set. He started by singing a few old irish songs and then sang an irish song about Australia. Upon realizing that someone at our table was foreign, he sang a rousing rendition of “Down Under” which got us up and dancing. From that point on i don’t think we managed to sit down again until we got in the car to drive home at the end of the night.

Murphys
Way. Too. Much. Fun.

Add to that a fun Sunday which included (but was not limited to) shoe shopping, cute coffee date, BBQ with friends and cuddling with puppies. I’d say i got my weekends worth…

Almost through..

Its been one of those weeks…i feel like i went from dealing with the ass-end of society at the beginning of the week to dealing with the complete opposite at the end. And i guess that’s the way to end any week.

Apparently one ALP’s boyfriend (tee!) is out of town this weekend, which means we get to have single ladies weekend. And that means just one thing…

Mechanical Bull riding.

The Giz is jealous.

Friday Fun

So one of my oldest friends from Perth (and his beautiful new wife) were in town for 3 days and I was able to catch up with them last night. Instead of heading into Georgetown to Bourbon, we got the crew together and headed into Oldtown to Chadwicks.

I’m glad i got a small chance to catch up with Maffew and also to meet his adorable new wife Kylie….it’s been way too long and it just makes me all the more happy that i am coming home at chrissy and i can see everyone again.

Twas a good night…and now, just for the shock (fun?) value…Matt and I seven (7!) years ago…almost to the day.

Cinco De Mayo

not a setup!

Picture 1 of 7

I was really doing something in the kitchen. Swear!!

Too much fun. We headed over to lovely L’s house last night for a Cinco De Mayo party. The basic rules were that you had to have some piece of clothing that was a color from the mexican flag. Check.

We got there and M and I prepared the Queso for comsumption and then went to town with the Margaritas that our lovely host had chilling in the fridge.

A silly fun time was had by all.
