Failing Fabulously at Fostering

Did i ever tell you about how much the Wee-b and I suck at fostering animals?

We let these pointies into our home and love on them and try to prepare them for the big bad world….And then we just go right ahead and fail in fabulous style.

Meet the newest member of our household:

He actually has no teeth (due to a disease that attacked his teeth & gums) hence the tongue that is perpetually hanging out at some odd angle ;)

Foster update

For the last two and a bit weeks we have had the privilege of fostering a slightly older gentleman in our house…

Sterling
Sterling I’m almost convinced that’s him smiling for the camera..

I know I have mentioned before that the Wee-b and I do a lot of fostering with a local rescue group, Tails High, and we truly love it. Sterling is one of the funniest little lovebugs we’ve had in our home for a long time. He is about 10, has no teeth, clipped fur and a bottlebrush for a tail (due to his fur being covered in oil and grease when he was found). He has fallen in love with the Giz and follows him around the house, chases Lady Georgia and wrestles with her (this is Georgia’s dream come true!) and cuddles with the humans.

Sterling would make such a fantastic companion, he’s such a friendly little man..and he’s absolutely gorgeous. I can’t wait to see the rest of his coat grow back in.

The current bunch

We have a new foster in the house – a little girl who goes by the name of Missouri

Missouri

She thinks that the Giz is the bees knees and spends a lot of time with him. She has some form of upper respiratory infection that, while non-contagious, has not been diagnosed as of yet (she is on medication!). She mostly just walks around the house wheezing like a little old man suffering from emphysema, but she is truly adorable.

Lady Georgia – still as sassy as ever. Some things never change!

And my little man. The one in charge..kind of. You know, when a cat is not trying to beat him up :) He has a hard life.

New fosters in the hizzy.

Introducing…

Tessa Tessa
She has chosen the top of the fridge as her observation point, however this photo was taken as she was perched on top of the door leading to the pantry. It allows for additional mobility as we open and close the door. She is apparently training for the new season of American Gladiators.

&

Thomasina Thomasina
This is the sassy kitty. Thomasina is constantly coming up and rubbing herself against you but then swatting you when you try and pat her. I’m not sure she’s grasping the whole cause and effect thing yet…but we’re working on her.

I must say, even Gizmo has taken these kitties in his stride. He’s really not all that bothered by them…and he’s also not complaining that he has to spend more time in the room with the bed.

Oh the sacrifices we make..
