Be vewy veeeeewy quiet

The wee-b and i have decided that its just about time to start acting more or less like adults. In order to celebrate this decision, we are looking into the idea of buying a house together. Well, I guess looking into the idea doesn’t really convey the seriousness…we are buying a house together. Full Stop. Period.

:)

We’ve got a real estate agent – courtesy of the Pants and we are truly in love with them so far. Jim is awesome and very easy to deal with, but as anyone knows who has been through the whole house hunting/purchasing/rigmarole you don’t really start looking until all of the banking bulls&$t is out of the way first. You have to know what you have to work with before you can begin throwing it all away..

We started off by talking to someone at Wee-b’s bank just before i left to go home at Christmas. This woman was pretty awesome and we did get ‘roughly’ pre-approved over the phone with his bank. I spoke with Jim about this and he mentioned that even though he banked personally at this bank he would not recommend them for a home loan as he had heard of his other clients having some difficulties when it came to closing out their loans. Yikes! So he put us in touch with someone that he deals with a lot, at another local bank…she has also been fabulous and so far, very easy to work with.

What the Wee-b and I (and our realtor) have decided on for now, is to plan to start actively hunting for our home at the beginning of April. I am in my lease at the Aspen until the end of July and the littleb is finishing up his last year of middle school. So by June/July he will be on Summer break and I will be close enough to the end of my lease where a few weeks won’t make much of a difference (as long as the rent is paid!) if we find our perfect home.
