Brilliant!

I know that my parents think that i am the one of the smartest people alive (ITS TOTALLY TRUE), but like most brilliant people…i too make mistakes (RARELY). And this morning i was involved in a very slight, teeny tiny error.

We were lent a miter saw by the Wee-b’s parents to help with the cutting of the floor boards. Let me just type that one more time for prosperity. Miter. Saw. As in an “i can cut across things at fancy angles, but i can not cut down lengths of floor boards” saw.

Insert sheepish grin here.

So now the plan is to purchase a small circular saw in order to complete the job. We decided to purchase instead of rent as I believe we will have many uses for a decent circular saw further down the line and once you’ve rented something 2-3 times it just makes more sense to buy it.

So flooring. Where are we? The floors are (mostly) level, sanded, spackled (and drying) and the moisture barrier is set to go down. We will probably head out this afternoon to have a look at some saws and this will also allow us the opportunity to work on the room in the evenings.

One of these days i promise…well maybe. Uh…when are you arriving here again Dad? I’m sure i can stall for a while longer.

And now for something completely different

I didn’t notice until after i took this photo that the cat (Lady Georgia, Guardian of the Holy Light) has the EXACT same look on her face as Walter the stuffed Wombat. Creepy.

Our first big achievement of 2011. We finished the most annoying puzzle in the world. No edge pieces and JUST FOR FUN they add an additional 5 pieces to the mix that are never used. AWESOME.

This is the look i got when i asked the Wee-b how he felt to have finished the coffee catastrophe…

And now back to your regularly scheduled programming….

Well, I’m a little embarrassed too. I knew it would cut angles but (since angles seem more complicated) just assumed it would make straight cuts as well. I mean, what would you expect a SAW to do???

  • Mum

After reading the first paragraph I can only say….I fully accept the fact that you are “your fathers child”….that’s something he could/would say….slight teeny, tiny error….OMG….you perfect pair!! LOL

Mama Marr – No worries…i knew that it was a miter saw…i just didn’t make the straight line connection. That probably just means i need more wine in my diet.

Mama – and all this time i thought i was adopted…you could have been more gentle with the news!!

More wine in our diet? Let’s drink to that!!!
