Pantry-fied

Whew!

So one last day of vay-cay means we have time for one last project and we picked one of the easiest….install shelving of some sort in the pantry.

Our pantry initially began as some sort of strange ‘let’s just put it there’ laundry room…as seen in Fig 1:

Numero Uno!

We knew soon after we moved in that we would need to do something about that, as the thought of doing laundry whilst entertaining our friends wasn’t really on the cards. Although…we did think it would be much easier to convince the littleb to do laundry if he could watch TV at the same time. Ah well..

So we had a contractor come in and put up some walls..

From here it kind of just worked as a laundry center (we sold our side by side washer and dryer and a client of mine donated her stacked unit to our cause!) and a litterbox area for our foster cats.  The eventual plan was to either install some sort of closet maid system or…..something.

We were a little stuck. The Wee-b’s mom (my mom too now – Hi Mama Marr!) has an AWESOME walk-in pantry that is lined with metal shelving and after the last time we visited we thought again about the benefits of doing something like this. It’s not permanent, which means the next owners can either keep it or do something else and it’s easy to move and clean. A BIG plus for our family :D

So this morning we all jumped in the car and headed out to do a bunch of errands – with a trip to Home Depot first on the cards…

We ended up buying two of these bad boys:

shelf! link!

and i must say…for the price, they are absolutely perfect…i mean look, they fit all of our pet stuff…

and that’s the most important part, right?

  • Linda Marr

Hey! Not sure I deserve ny credit but willing to accept any given. I love keeping up with all the changes….

  • Mum

We “Mums” have all the best ideas…and it’s nice to know you take notice of us too…I might add it’s taken years for that to happen! Great to see you to achieving so much together!

Now is Gizmo able to come down from there or do I have to fly over and rescue him?

  • Mac

Oh don’t worry – that big baby is fine. He was up there for about two seconds and then he was off chasing the cat again.

Next on the list is to train him in the ways of a paint brush….someone needs to paint this table!

  • you know who

i like the dog photo at the top of the shelf. classic!

    floor is looking good too!
