Update in the hooooooood

Its been a crazy couple of weeks. We are working on a HUGE project in at work and it’s consuming all of my time at work and after work. But its almost all complete now…final installation is this Sunday coming up and then we just get to dress up for the opening :D

So a couple of things…number 1, my finished Wurm Hat

I adore this hat. It was so easy to whip up and so cute as a finished product. Its not really hat season anymore, but at least its all done for next year.

Number 2. The Giz

Man, this dog is the silliest. The littleb dresses him up all the time and he loves it. Well, i think mainly he loves the littleb…but he never minds putting clothes on. I think he’s under the distinct impression that he is not a dog at all.

The Wee-b and I began our househunting project last weekend and came across some seriously awesome houses and some not so seriously awesome houses. Unfortunately the two places we loved and put an offer in on were not applicable under the type of loan we have, but we’ll keep looking. I have my fingers crossed that we’ll have a couple more to look at this weekend as well.

Hopefully soon i will have some more pictures to add of the project we have been working on here. It’s truly amazing the way it has been coming together, we’re very proud of the finished product.

Hi Leanne

Your entry regarding missing the littleb hit a nerve with me and made me think back a few years. It was when we were in the States and I’m sure you’ll remember the time well!

You had never spent a lot of time away from home, and I can still hear the pleas about “Horse Camp” and “Danielle was going and you should be able to go too”….”she would look after you” and on and on it went!

I guess Dad and I, while reluctant, could also see the benefit of such an adventure….there are so many things I remember about this whole episode! One thing was working out all the clothes you would need for 10 days and packing them all so they would be easy to take out each day…..only to have at least 5 days worth of clean clothes returned not having been worn at all!

You were so excited and couldn’t wait to go and I know you loved every minute of it! However I missed you so much, worried over you every minute you were away and couldn’t wait to have you back home again!

We had several notes from you during this time but my favourite one of all came right at the end just before we were due to come and get you…

It’s so good being able to look through the notes and cards I’ve had from you over the years….and the photos….perhaps I need to say more often that I miss you, I worry about you and I can’t wait to see you again!

And by the way…..have you got a clean set of clothes on today?

Love you lots!

We are working on a HUGE project at the office at the moment and it’s now heading into the final stretch where all the big stuff is being delivered and we are under a lot of stress and large, looming deadlines.

That being said. This is my breakfast this morning. Don’t judge…i need it.

Thanks mum!

New craftiness

I managed to score a great deal on some beautiful yarn this weekend when a local dyer had an amazing easter weekend sale. I grabbed the yarn up as soon as i found it and was even able to go and pick it up as she lives so close to Old Town.

I have to say, I am beyond thrilled with this yarn in person. The colors are absolutely beautiful and very true to the pictures listed on etsy. When i went to pick up the yarn it was all wrapped up in blue tissue paper and had a little hang tag on it with my name like it was a gift just for me :) Well, i guess in a way it was…that i bought…for myself ;)

So i couldn’t help myself, after winding up a ball last night I cast on and knit the first row of my newest project…

After being thrilled with the colors of the yarn and how soft it was, it’s nice to be able to work with a yarn and have it do just what you want without having to grab a wooden spoon and teach it a thing or two. I’m looking forward to working on this project. Some photos will be forthcoming, as well as a picture of my finished Wurm hat.

Spring Break

The Wee-b and I headed back to the beach this weekend to pick up the littleb after his spring break. We managed to jump in the car with the Giz around 3 on Saturday afternoon and got there just after 7. Pretty awesome timing considering that we were driving in the middle of the day on Easter weekend.

We parked the car and got the Giz situated and then headed around the side of the house so that we could throw out some of the trash that we had amassed on the way there. Just as we opened the gate we were confronted with the littleb, silly string and a ton of balloons! It was a massacre. We were hit from all directions. Not to mention that the kiddo had told us he hadn’t had his hair cut and we were then presented with this..

Apparently this was our April Fools joke…Funny kid :) He and I have been playing Pokemon on the DS and he went to the trouble of putting together a pokedex for me which is pretty neat. Now we’e both playing the same version of Pokemon, which means we can battle against each other…although im not really looking forward to having my butt handed to me on a silver platter.

The three of us jumped on the bed after dinner and relaxed for an hour or so to try and wind down after the drive. Man…i have the big <3 for my little family.

We decided to stay the night on Saturday night and drive home on Sunday like we did the previous weekend. It was actually a really nice drive home, we stopped a couple of times along the way to stretch and eat, but we still made it home around 5pm. The Giz is super happy to have his buddy home again.

Grumble Butt

Sometimes its not easy being a teeny tiny piggy puppy. Especially when your parents spend hours poking at you and taking photos of you, or when they make your face do silly things. Sometimes all you have left to do is climb under a mountain of blankets and hide your face from the world.

Bros and bros

Games night with my boys, always my favourite night :)

Tonight began with Maniha and his AMAZING bbq pork. Damn dude. This stuff was so awesome it killed buns. This was kind of the aftermath shot…when we were trying to divide up the leftovers. Keep in mind that i am using the term ‘leftovers’ very loosely. This was a giant crockpot FULL TO THE BRIM with goodness. I don’t even think we managed to get more than an inch deep with our two rounds of sandwiches.

Smallworld. Lots of fun. This was just the setup and Mr Jordan taking us through the rules. This was actually a super speedy game once we got through the first round and figured out how the play went. Days of Wonder definitely know how to put together a great game.

This was from about halfway through the game when Maniha was just about to lay the smack down on all of us with his army of the undead. All i had were a couple of stinky Halflings weilding sharp knives, sausages and a wheel of cheese. Don’t ask me, i don’t know.

Miss ThingTM. She had a LOT to say last night, and while i don’t quite speak her language, what i do know is that she used a lot of words that I would have had my mouth washed out with soap for. Naughty girl ;)
