So we have had the baby gate down for a few months now and all animals have been (mostly) getting along. Or at least tolerating each other.
But then this happened…
I had to take a photo to mark the occasion and to make sure that my eyes were not deceiving me. That is actually Sir Digby and Count Sterling laying on our bed within eating range of each other. The best part was that Sir Digby kept leaning over to sniff The Count and would dart back into position as soon as The Count moved.
Looks like Count Sterling is king of the castle again…
After my last lovely jaunt in the garden, i started to get a little itchy. Then a little more itchy…then a WHOLEHELLAVALOT itchy.
Oh yes. Poison Ivy. How i loathe thee.
Thats kinda where it started…a week ago. I would show you an updated picture, but sometimes things are best left to the imagination. Trust me when I say your imagination has absolutely no grasp on reality Ugh! I thought I was getting a handle on the itchies this weekend, with copious amounts of oatmeal baths, etc. But yesterday I was proven wrong (don’t worry, that happens RARELY) so i took myself off to Urgent Care after work. I now have a lovely round of steroids to deal with. You may from here on out refer to me as SHE-HULK.
The other awesome weekend fun, was a large storm that rolled through the DC area. We lost power just after 11pm on Friday night and managed to be without for around 18 hours. Not too bad considering there are a lot of peeps in our area that are still without and could be for up to a week.
Georgia don’t care. Georgia don’t give a shit. And she will also give that damn Honey Badger a run for his money. Ignore the carpet that looks filthy – thats just the remains of two underage cats getting into the nip. We need to have a talk with them. It’s already on my to-do list.
So yeah. It got a little hot. Well, it actually got a lot hot…the cats managed, as always, to find the coolest spot in the house. Sir Digby we dealt with in another way..
Contrary to what you are seeing here, he actually really enjoying being in the pool. I think we’ll bring it out again this weekend. You know, while i am in the backyard suited up from head to toe and trying not to look in the direction of anything even vaguely green or leafy.
Oh…and it wouldn’t be a post without some silliness from Count Sterling.
This cat sat like this for a good 5 minutes watching the squirrel at the window eat the bird seed. I mean. I just don’t have words. Photos like this are a daily occurrence. It just never stops. Perhaps we should open a shelter for silly homeless animals. Oh who am i kidding? Shelter! Ha! We would just keep them all.
one of those nights where everything gets a little silly and you decide to make cat bread?
So…a few months back i came across the blog of Greg Ham, an awesome illustrator with a knack of capturing the smallest details in a fun format.
But all his other (incredible) artwork aside…one of his images REALLY caught my eye.
BT Bee! © Greg Ham
So i reached out to Greg to see if there was any chance that he would let me ‘borrow’ the image for an idea i had. Being the awesome gentleman that he is (and a fellow BT lover), he not only granted me permission, but he sent me a copy of the image along with a little sketch of Giz and some get well wishes. Which must be working, because at the moment Gizmo is kicking cancers ASS!
But back to the story at hand. I went to talk to a guy about a dog. And this is what happened..
Squee! I love him so!
Meet the Giz – new spokesperson for Full Circle Home (heh…not really). You see him here in his natural habitat, modeling the latest fashion accessory, The Edge Microfiber scrubby cloth (as well as his natural ‘stink-eye look’ – its the latest update on blue steel).
HATS FOR ALL!
This is my view almost every morning when I leave the Strewth house…
These two have now formed the local neighbourhood watch group. Luckily they don’t have opposable thumbs or we’d all be in trouble..
The weather is starting to warm up here and the Giz is enjoying some sunbathing and bumble bee watching. I have to try and get a picture of him chasing bumblebees one of these days..
A week is not a week without an appearance from Sir Giz (Purveyor of the Shiz)…
Ladies, he is definitely available…he likes long walks on the grass, chicken, tomatoes and naps. Also cat food…but not really cats.
Stuff that my dreams are made of
1. The Boskke Sky Planter. I mean seriously? I can already picture three of these hanging from the ceiling over our kitchen sink. Sexy herbs on demand!
2. CircaCeramics. I love you. Have my babies. Wait. Would you trade? I might be on to something here…actually, I really want all of these designs on egg cups. EGG CUPS! Think about it.
3. Milk Bottle Measuring Cups. Now seriously…anthropology…enough is enough. When a girl doesn’t call you, it means she is really not that into you. What this means is, you need to stop stocking up with such awesome goodies.
4. Red Velvet Cheesecake Brownies. Shhh…can’t talk. Dying.
5. Wally! You belong with me.
