Busy Beaver

Life has been a little crazy recently…with an extra serving of nuts on the side. This has been all my waking moments lately… Actually, probably my sleeping moments too.

Another day well spent in the garden :) all weeds gone, plants trimmed and grass holes filled in. Next weekend I’m cracking the compost open and laying out more mulch…now I just need to convince the dog to help.

Happy New Year!

So…it’s been a while, eh?

This time of year is often so strange. Stretches of time where people talk about resolutions…most of which get tossed out the window when the first GIGANTIC slice of chocolate cake is served ;)

I decided this year not to make any resolutions for the real world. I decided to make some for the www world. I resolved to be more active with the house of Strewth and to work more on my site and update more regularly. To be more honest about stuff thats going on here and to take more pictures. Especially of our animals. They are goofy goobers.

images-1 NOT Gizmo, but close enough..
So here we go. My resolutions (now that im posting it to the interwebs I have to follow through, right?) are as follows:

1. I’m going to try and keep up with my three-times-a-week posting (Mon-Wed-Fri)
2. More photos!
3. More giveaways – my favourite stuff can be your favourite stuff too!

So basically, I’m hoping that by the end of the year I will a)not have a stalker(due to the excess information) and b) I will be a better photographer(due to the excess of goober photography).

Let’s see where this leads us, eh?

Happy 2012!

Stuff

Has been a little nuts round these parts. Lots of late nights at work with the new Lounge we are working on, busy weekends at home crossing things off the to-do lists. I’m still here, just having trouble finding a few free moments to upload all my pictures ;-)

Sandy’s a Gurl?

So its been a pretty good week all in all. Busy at work – which is awesome considering that a lot of other firms are not doing so well. We’re working on another big job at the moment for a home in PA that should look awesome when it’s all done and installed. We’re doing these fabulous arched Roman Shades. I will have to get our installer to take some photos for us when he heads back up there for the install.

Last night I got to spend time with my favourite girl…we went out shopping for shoes, my last work shoes bit the dust so i needed to find a new pair of el-cheapo cutie black shoes. Mission accomplished AND we even snuck in a trip to Target (sorry mama!) but…of course, i forgot a few things so I will need to head back there sometime this weekend. Actually mum, you’ll be surprised when you come back and we go to Target (yes, straight from the airport, i promise!) the one down the street has just gone through a big renovation and they now have aisles of groceries, fresh produce, etc. It’s pretty cool…the best part is all the fridges are lit up, but the lights only come on as you walk past the individual fridges. And no, contrary to the stories you may hear, Miss M and I DID NOT dance up and down the aisles turning the lights on.

The Giz is having a pretty itchy time of it at the moment. I found some new ear solution for him which is meant to be all natural and it seems to be doing the trick. The best part is, its not drying out his ears like the stuff i got from the vet was AND it makes him smell of cinnamon. Thats kind of weird…and also oddly hunger-inducing. His allergies have started acting up again…i have been giving him benadryl daily which appears to be helping with his peepers but his feet and belly are still super itchy. Sister B has been washing Parker with Dove body wash and Miss M mentioned that it was working wonders with the itchies, so I think i will get some and try Gizmo with that. Although he is super hilarious with the faces when he itches himself, I have to stop entertaining myself and perhaps think about trying to help him ;)

Still having a blast with the wee-b and the little-b. I need to finish installing the games on the little-b’s laptop this weekend as I have been promising him that for a while and I think i finally figured out where i went wrong with the last one. So it shouldn’t take long to get that sorted. Wee-b cooked up a storm in the kitchen this morning and made me the yummiest mushroom and cheese omelet. That boy can cook! He may be a keeper…

Looks like this weekend may involve some driving. Food with the Meesh…another trip to Target (sorry mama!), comic book store (YAY!), more food tomorrow way out woop-woop :) I think it’s going to be a blast of a weekend. I would like to throw the Giz in the car at some point too…but it’s pretty rainy out all weekend and he does hate getting his pretty coat damp. Pansy. Poppy Jack – I need you to come back over here and whip your Granddog into shape. He’s much, much too soft….too…american.

sad grumpy face

I feel kind of forgotten. But i think it’s my own doing…in a way. Stupidly,  I tend to take people at their word and believe what they say. When they don’t follow through, i feel like im not important enough for them to remember.

Where the Wild Things Are comes out tonight…i wish i could sneak the Giz into the movie theater :) Instead i think we might have a night at home and do annoying things like bathtime and cuddle with mum. Oh he has a hard, hard life this dog.

Family

Woke up to Pappa Dan making omelets for all us kids this morning. I love having such a full house…and there’s nothing better than walking past the kitchen in the morning and hearing someone say “g’morning love”. I miss my parents so so much, i am so lucky to have been adopted in to Miss M’s family.

The Giz is happy too because he “assisted” in the kitchen this morning. He now has a full omelet belly.
